Kubotek USA announced the release of KeyCreator 6.5 in April 2007, a new version of its widely used design and manufacturing CAD software. KeyCreator 6.5 includes new features that are particularly valuable to mould designers and job shops where the ability to detect and work with specific features and patterns within a model is needed.

Dynamic Dimension Driven Editing functionality is used to edit 3D solid models, no matter whether they were created in KeyCreator or imported from other CAD or CAM systems. And DDDE edit functionality does not require previously created parameters or constraint relationships. In KeyCreator you simply attach one or more dimensions to the 3D solid model and then edit or modify the solid part by changing these dimension values.

Technology Libraries are a new innovation that was transferred to MSV8 from VISI Series Machining 3D.
Technology Libraries include database information on all parameters that control tool selection and cutting speeds & feeds.
Factors such as: Materials being cut, Operation types (roughing, semi finishing, finishing), Cutter materials and Cutter suitability are included in the libraries.
Improved Cutter Definitions:
Machining STRATEGIST V8 now allows cutters with tapers and steps to be defined. This enables correct clearances to be applied to the cutting and non cutting sections of the tool itself.
Tool Holder clearance remains independent of cutter clearance.
Adaptive Roughing Strategy:
An all new Adaptive Roughing Strategy has been added to machining STRATEGIST V8.
This new strategy delivers higher effciency with improved tool life and up to 40% reduced cutting time.
Helical Machining strategy:
A new Helical machining strategy has been added to MSV8. This enables a whole core areas to me machined in virtually one pass. And the strategy switches to waterline wherever possible.
Also a horizontal pass to clean up flat areas is included.
Toolpath Linking improvements:
A number of Linking improvements have been included in MSV8. Eg: During rest machining, shallow and steep areas receive different shallow steep strategies automatically.
Toolsheet improvements:
Toolsheets now include improved view definitions and offer the ability to include 4 views with Axes and nominal dimensions shown in each view.
